Studio Log, October 15, 2026: a look at what we are building right now at The Bailey Perspective. This week: FestOps.
Over the past week we’ve been busy turning FestOps from a concept into a fully branded, live product. The changes we’ve made—rebranding, a fresh theme, and the first real‑world festival integration—show how quickly a well‑structured, AI‑assisted workflow can move a project from idea to market.
What FestOps is
FestOps is a single platform that lets festival organizers run everything from one place. Staff use dedicated apps for each stage, run‑of‑show scheduling, bulletins, and press releases. Fans download a lightweight PWA that shows the lineup, lets them complete quests, earn badges, and collect points. Each festival gets its own themed front door, a public blog, and licence plans that sit on the marketing site.
What shipped recently
On 2026‑10‑15 we rebranded from FestGuru to FestOps and moved the entire product to its own domain, festops.net. Every old URL under thebaileyperspective.com/festguru now redirects to the new home, ensuring a smooth transition for existing users.
The log
- 2026-10-15 — Rebranded from FestGuru to FestOps and moved to its own domain, festops.net. Every old URL under thebaileyperspective.com/festguru redirects to the new home.
- 2026-10-15 — New 'site plan' visual theme: drafting-paper background with a blueprint grid, ink and live-orange and teal accents, Instrument Serif and JetBrains Mono type, contour-map art, a run-of-show rail, the original eye logo restored, and the explainer video playing inside a monitor in the hero. The staff apps use a night-ops dark look.
- 2026-10-14 — Blossom became the first real festival on the platform. A fan who buys a Blossom ticket can link it to their FestOps account from a 'Got a ticket? Link it' card and earns a Sprout badge plus points; the Blossom lineup mirrors in automatically every 15 minutes.
How it is built
The core of FestOps is a Node/Express backend with a Postgres database, handling everything from user authentication to real‑time lineup updates. The front end is a Vite/React PWA that can be installed on any phone, providing a native‑app feel without the overhead of app store submissions. Each festival’s theme is generated from a Theme Studio import of the festival’s own website, allowing quick visual alignment with existing branding.
What is next
We will re‑render the explainer video in the new theme, finish the server‑side pages to match the new palette, and migrate all email handling onto the festops.net domain for a unified brand experience.
One lesson for your own build
When you’re building a product that needs to integrate with external systems, start with a clear data sync strategy early. Also, using AI to handle repetitive coding tasks can free up your senior engineers to focus on the parts that truly differentiate your product.
